Just before 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Officers Michael Montanaro and Damien Rosa noticed a blue Jaguar cross a double yellow line on Henry Street in Stamford, Sgt. Jennifer Lynch said.
As officers stopped and approached the vehicle, they could see what appeared to be a black rifle leaning against the leg of a passenger in the vehicle, Lynch said. The man was removed from the vehicle and handcuffed, she said.
The weapon turned out to be a black Ruger Blackhawk Elite pellet gun.
The driver was not charged, but the passenger was arrested, police said.
Charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and three counts of second-degree failing to appear is Gamail Lamar Worsley, 26, of 71 Ludlow St. His bond was set at $5,000.
He was also charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy at third-degree burglary and fifth-degree larceny. There was no further information on those charges.
